The flying tooth images are now some of the most popular on social media, stemming from the price Isaiah Thomas had to pay in a game one victory- a tooth. The now revitalized Boston Celtics are out out on a mission, to defeat their rival Wizards in a best of seven series and move on to the Eastern Conference Finals.
The series got underway on Sunday afternoon in Boston, the site in which star Boston guard Isaiah Thomas had his front tooth knocked out while playing defense early in the game. This series is geared to be one of the best of these playoffs so far, with both teams genuinely not liking each other. No matter how bad it sounds, when two teams that don’t like each other meet up for a do-or-die series, things get very interesting.

The Celtics and the Wizards split the regular season series at two games a piece, but in the final two games the Celtics and Wizards began to get a bit chippy, sparking a solid rivalry of two Eastern Conference powerhouses.
The first game of this second round playoff series was no short of amazing, with the scrappy undersized Boston Celtics pulling out a vital win at home in the TD Garden. This was only after they conquered a deficit of 14 points at the end of the first quarter to win by a whopping 12 points. This came first with defense, with the Celtics holding the Wizards to a mere 16 points while scoring 36, giving them a huge lead and momentum swing heading into the final frame. The Celtic faithful was loving it, getting more and more loud as the game wore on, giving the players the boost they needed to spark the comeback.
The Wizards did put up a good fight, showing promise early on. They were lead by their two star guards Bradley Beal (27 points) and John Wall (20 points 16 assists). The Wizards were impressive in the first quarter especially, but showed no fight after the Celtics came storming back.
The Celtics are now on a complete tear, winning their last five playoff games after dropping the first two to the Chicago Bulls. Those two games came just days after the tragic death of Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas’ sister Chyna, which could have been a contributing factor to the team's lack of focus. Since game three of the first round, however, the Celtics have been on a tear, playing some of their best basketball of the year. They have outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points in the last five games.
This being said, after winning game two at home on Tuesday night, I believe that they will lose game 3 in Washington and then win four and six to close out the series four games to two.
The Wizards are a very solid team, but they rely heavily on the play of their guards, Wall and Beal. This being said, the Celtics have the defense of their young guards Avery Bradley, Marcus Smart, and their forward Jae Crowder, all of which the C’s can throw at the young studs of the Wizards to combat their skill. Therefore, as long as the big men of the Wizards, namely Marcin Gortat, do not score more than 15 points or have more than 8 rebounds, the smaller Celtics team will be ready to go into their first Eastern Conference Finals since 2008.
