In recent years, Justin Bieber has become a household name— especially if you have a teenage girl living with you. He first became a pop sensation back in 2009 and his since grown into one of the most popular artists in the world. Granted, the twenty-two year old hasn’t made the best choices in the past few years, his music has remained the same—catchy beats, meaningful lyrics, and memorable instrumentals.

Granted, the twenty-two year old hasn’t made the best choices in the past few years, his music has remained the same—catchy beats, meaningful lyrics, and memorable instrumentals.
His most recent hit, ‘Love Yourself’, has been one the Billboard: Hot 100 chart for the past few weeks since its release. The song is about a woman who has clearly wronged Bieber in the past by using his name to make herself look better and broke his heart. Fans online have been stating that the woman he’s singing about would be his ex, Selena Gomez, but Bieber hasn’t come out and publicly stated that this is true.
Now, I personally am not that big of a Bieber fan— I used to be when I was younger, but that phase in my life has been over for quite a few years, though I do have to say that ‘Love Yourself’ is a very catchy song. The beat is easily stuck in your head and the words seem to just fall out of your mouth by the end of the song. The simplicity of the instrumental is all too perfect, with only a guitar playing behind the vocals. One could also look at the song as a song about just loving yourself in general, but it’s extremely clear that it’s about a past relationship. When listening to the song, Justin’s voice is full of emotion— almost as if he was thinking of this relationship the entire time he was in the studio recording it.
Despite how much praise the Biebs gets for his music and other work, there will be those people that still seriously dislike him— and that’s okay! Everyone has their opinions, but there is no denying that this would be the perfect song to send to an old flame that’s still all up in your business.
