Q: When did you first get into Broadway?
A: That was last year when I discovered Hamilton. I guess when I was younger, I always liked Wicked. I wanted to see that really badly. I didn’t really get into it until I got obsessed with Hamilton, I was like “wait, this is really cool”.
Q: How did you discover Hamilton?
A: I went to this youth group and I had not too many friends there but one of my friends there there, I had was super into it. A bunch of other people liked it too but it was her specifically that made me think “Hmm, I should look into this”. So I did.

Q: How many plays have you been to?
A: Actually. in the past year, I’ve been to, like, four, which is crazy. I saw Wicked, I saw Hamilton, I saw Rent, I saw Phantom of the Opera, and Waitress. So five.
Q: What plays do you plan on going to in the future?
A: I'm gonna see Jesus Christ Superstar at the end of this month.
Q: How many play have you been in? Was this inspired by your love of Broadway?
A: I was in drama in my old school and then I moved. I was stage crew for the fall show. And then I’m in this show [The Little Mermaid]. If you count the stage crew one, then three.
Q: Do you have a bigger interest in singing or acting?
A: At the moment I feel like singing....is more of what I’m focusing on currently because I don’t act in what I’m doing in the play because I’m an extra. I am not super great at singing so I have to focus on getting better and becoming a good singer.
Q: Do you take vocal classes to help yourself improve?
A: We’re trying to find vocal lessons...We found a place but we need to find a person. Not yet.
Q: What’s your all time favourite play?
A: I've probably had the most fun with the one that I’m in right now, The Little Mermaid [out of the one’s I’ve been in]. And then, of the one’s that I’ve seen - oh, it’s like picking a favourite child! Okay, I’m gonna eliminate some. Oh, I feel so bad! Not Waitress, - it’s like a dagger in my heart - not Phantom of the Opera, -it’s so painful - not Wicked….it has to be Hamilton.
Q: Do you think Rent the play is better than the movie?
A: Way better.
Q: You’re a Hufflepuff. If you wear clothing about that, I’m guessing you like Harry Potter? Have you read the books or just seen the movies?
A: I’ve tried to read the books, it’s on my bucket. But I haven’t yet. I have them all and Noah [her brother] has read up to five, I think, is where he stopped. When I was younger, I’d just watch the movies. Noah would read the book and then we’d all watch the movie. So I didn’t when I was younger, but if I was older, I probably would’ve waited and read the books on my own first. But I didn’t and now I regret it.
Q: From the movies, have you picked a favourite Harry Potter character?
A: I want to say Sirius. Not as hard as picking a favourite musical but it’s still painful.
Q: Have you been to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter or met anyone from the cast of the movies?
A: I have been to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It was pretty awesome. I went when I was in third grade and then I went again in sixth grade...And the first time, I went to the Hogwarts part and the second time, I went Gringotts part. And then this year, my friend brought me there...and we went to both sides and it was so much fun. The first time I went was with my whole family, grandparents and aunts and stuff on my dad’s side and my grandparents paid for it. And when I was in sixth grade and I went to the other part of it [Gringotts]...it was just the five of us….Then my friend...we were watching Harry Potter because we watch the movies together and, like, fangirl about it. And she was like “Mom, you should bring us to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter”, and she was joking around. But her mom said, “Okay, I promise to bring you to the Harry Potter World when you turn 13”...So for her birthday, neither of us expected her [her friend’s mother] to do it. But her dad, me, and her ended up going together. And we had a lot of fun.
Q: Do you like A Very Potter Musical?
A: Yeah, I do. I haven't watched it in so long. But the songs will get stuck in my head still, even though I haven’t.
Q: How did you discover it? [AVPM]
A: I guess I just came across it one day. I think I was watching Starkids. They did another [play] of Aladdin and I watched that. And then I was like “oh, I’ll watch this [AVPM] now”.
Q: Did you ever get around to watching the sequel?
A: I don’t think so.
Q: How long is play rehearsal today?
A: I think five hours. Five and a half.
Q: What do they have you doing for that long?
A: The show’s this weekend so we have to run through the entire play, do costumes and makeup.
Q: When exactly is the play?
A: The play if Friday at 7:00, Saturday at 2:00 and 7:00, and then Sunday at 2:00.
Q: How do you get tickets?
A: You can go online and get reserved seating or you can just get tickets at the door.
Q: How long is the play?
A: Maybe 2 hours. I don’t know. They might be trying to get it down to an hour and a half. So it will probably be around and hour and forty five minutes.
