What do you do in your free time?
Outside of school and dance, I enjoy reading about both historical and current events, traveling with family, and shopping for clothes. I’m someone who saves my money for a few months and spends it all at once.
What is something that people don’t know about you?
Some people might probably know this, but, technically I should be in eighth grade. I was born in October 2001, so I won’t turn fifteen until after September. I started kindergarten early, making some of the people in my grade almost a year older.
What has been your best memory of freshmen year?
My best memory of freshmen year was the homecoming dance in the fall. We had dances in middle school but they weren’t as much of a big deal as this one. It was exciting to see the freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and the seniors all dressed up with their hair and makeup done. Everyone looked awesome.
What are you excited about for next year?
I’m excited for the homecoming football game and spirit week. I can’t wait to help make the float for the sophomore class! Hopefully, we’ll have a few school dances throughout the year. It’s also strange to realize that next year is the last year before we take SATs and start going on college tours.
What do you want to do when you “grow up?”
I change my mind about what I want to do when I grow up, but as of now I think I’d like to become either a nurse or a lawyer. However, I’m leaning more toward becoming a lawyer because science is not my strongest academic area.
If there was any advice you could give the incoming freshmen, what would it be?
I would tell them [freshmen] to get involved, but make sure not to overwhelm yourself. Obviously colleges are looking for people who do well academically and volunteer in their community, but that doesn’t mean you have to stay after every single day of the week. Even just joining one sport or extracurricular activity is better than nothing.
Are you excited about being president of the class of 2019? What are you excited about?
I’m definitely excited about being the president of the class of 2019, but also a bit nervous because I’ve never held a class officer position before. I’ll need to consult my friends and the other officers a lot, but hopefully we can make next year a great one.
