What are your hobbies?
My hobbies include basically just playing sports all the time, and I also like to read and write. A lot of people don’t know that, but I like writing a lot.
What accomplishments have you had that you are most proud of?
Probably being on Varsity Field Hockey my freshman year and getting the Falcon Award. That’s something big to me because my sports are really huge to me. I learn so many lessons from them, and I value everyone that I play with. I take it seriously, but I still have fun doing it. I put a lot of time and effort into playing sports, so that’s kind of big.
Do you have any goals for sports?
Definitely to get all star, at least every sport my senior year; that’d be pretty cool. I want to be captain for at least for two of them. Also, I’m new at playing hockey, so I think my goals are to get better every year, and just try to be starter goalie because last year I didn’t get to play a lot because I was new. I want to be able to come back and show them that I’m here to play.
What is something people don’t know about you?
I don’t think people know that I come off as really hard on the outside but I can be pretty sensitive sometimes; everybody has feelings. I’m just a lot more soft in the center than people think, I guess. I try not to have boring conversations with people. I’m actually really hard on myself and that I’m also really reflective at the same time. Going back to sports, I’m really hard about how I do things, and I’m really particular. I think sports have created me into a perfectionist about it. I will stay wicked late and do things until I do it right. I know that I can’t do everything right, but I still want to.
Who has been the biggest influence in your life?
Probably my parents, obviously, but they have a lot of influence over me and I respect them a lot. They’re not the kind of parents that are up your butt all the time about stuff; they’re not helicopter parents, so I think that’s really helpful. I know that I can go to them for anything, even if it’s something terrible; I could be in a ditch and I can call them and be like, ‘Hey I got myself in a little bit of trouble and I need some help.’
What makes you different than everybody else?
I think that I take things kind of seriously. I know people, they can take things seriously, but they don’t take it to the extreme that I do. I don’t think people see behind the lines; I go home, and I think about it, and I work hard for it. I put all this time in that people don’t see. I’m really hardworking. I make sure I achieve my goals and if I don’t achieve them, then I’ll feel really disappointed in myself.
Describe your perfect day.
I don’t know, there’s too many perfect days. Probably going to a hockey game, having a good time, and then coming back and hanging out with my friends and my family.
