April vacation is coming up fast and Cape Cod is full of fun things to do! For Mashpee, April Vacation starts Monday April 18 and ends April 22 (plus both weekends), leaving you a whole 9 days to do whatever you want! Sleeping in can be great, but once you are up for the day you may find yourself asking “What can I do today?” There are many things to do on the Cape over vacation.
On the Cape, there are plenty of things to do during your spring break. In Hyannis, the Hyannis Youth Center has public ice skating 2:10-4:00 p.m on Sunday the 17, 12-2 on the 18-21, and 4-5:30 on the 23. Student admission is $5, adults are $7, seniors are $2. You can also rent skates for $5.
If the weather is nice, Provincetown is a fun family trip for the day. There is lots of food and fun atmosphere to enjoy along Commercial Street, not including the gorgeous beaches and the historic Provincetown Monument. Another activity if the weather is cooperating is to enjoy the nature of Cape Cod. There are plenty of hiking trails all around the cape, along with tons of nature parks and reservations. One right in our own town are the Mashpee Woodlands. Ashumet Wildlife and Holly Reserve has a beautiful little path around a small marshy pond.
If you find yourself farther down cape, the Cape Cod Museum of Natural History in Brewster is a cool place to stop. The museum is open every day during vacation from 11-3 and admission is $10 for adults, seniors are $7, and kids (3-12) are $5. The National Seashore is full of beautiful beaches and amazing views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Want to hang out with some friends but need an idea of something to do? Why not take a trip to the movies! "The Jungle Book" is a new movie and will be playing during vacation at the Mashpee Commons along with other movies such as "Batman Vs. Superman" and "My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2."
