The highly popular championship of the National Football League is this Sunday between the Philadelphia Eagles and the New England Patriots. This game is one of the most popular events in the country and is highly scrutinized by both fans and sports analysts. This game is highly anticipated, especially because the Patriots are returning to the Super Bowl for a second consecutive year after last years’ extravaganza against the Falcons in which the Patriots came back to win the game. As for their foes, the Philadelphia Eagles have not won a Super Bowl in their franchise history. This being said, they are the heavy underdogs coming into Sunday’s game, and that has the vast majority of fans rooting for the Eagles.

The Patriots are in a stretch of franchise that is considered a “dynasty” in the sports world. Every season, the Patriots are in some sort of playoff contention. This season, the story is still the same. The Patriots have one of the most prolific offenses in the NFL, which is nothing new as long as Tom Brady is under center for the Pats. The Patriots average 28.6 points per game, which is tied second in the NFL with none other than the Eagles. This is along with 276.1 passing yards and 394.2 total yards per game, which are second and first in the NFL, respectively. This will be a tall order for the Eagles, who came into the playoffs slated to make an exit far before the Superbowl.
As for the Eagles, they average the same amount of points per game, but rely much more on the run game, averaging 132.2 yards per game which is third in the NFL. The backfield consists mainly of Jay Ajayi and Legarrette Blount, who are both established backs in the NFL. Blount actually played for the Patriots last year, and he knows how dangerous the Patriots offense is. Nick Foles is under center for the Eagles, and this young quarterback will need to play a serious role in the game if the Eagles want to take a championship back to Philadelphia.
