The Mashpee Falcons Girls Varsity Lacrosse team defeated Middleboro High School 17-6 at home last Tuesday in a big first round South Shore League playoff win.
The Lady Falcons went on to lose an away game to Norwell High School on Thursday, ending their South Shore League tournament run in the semi-finals.
The team’s season will continue with the MIAA tournament at home on Friday at 5:45, when the #6 seed Lady Falcons will host Cardinal Spellman.
Their first SSL tournament game, however, was high stakes for Mashpee girls lacrosse. Winning the game meant they were going to move on in the tournament, which is always an exciting achievement. Many Mashpee High School students filled the bleachers and were eager to watch the Falcons dominate their game against Middleboro.
“We saw what we were doing wrong, we fixed it, and then we came out the better team,” Mashpee coach Todd Franks said in an interview after the game.
