On November 8, 2016, after a long and brutal battle between Democratic nominee Hillary R. Clinton and Republican nominee Donald J. Trump, the people of the United States elected the 45th president of the United States, Donald J. Trump, who lost the national popular vote but won the electoral college by a significant margin.
In the year since Trump’s election, political tensions have been higher than ever between liberals and conservatives, with radical groups like BLM, Antifa, Neo-Nazis and white nationalists stirring the pot, along with many biased news organizations. In many cases, friendships have been tainted, ruined and prevented simply on the basis of opposing political opinions.

In many cases, friendships have been tainted, ruined and prevented simply on the basis of opposing political opinions.
Even political organizations are turning their backs on their bases. The leader, Quanell X, of the New Black Panthers Party, has recently withdrawn the political party’s formal support for the Democrats because that party has promised to help black people, but has failed to deliver on those promises. On the other side, the National Rifle Association, a group that has backed candidates that support gun ownership and the second amendment, recently made comments supporting the consideration for a regulation of a “bump stock.” which is seen as a huge betrayal by their members and a violation of their “if you give an inch, they(liberals) take a mile” policy.
With the overwhelming Democratic victories in Virginia and New Jersey, many assumed that Trump has lost a good amount of support in those states. On the other hand, his support never seems to wane in swing states like Ohio as well as his solid red states. Many media outlets have also described several states that he would get more votes in since he was president, but other outlets like CNN, Washington Post, Huffington Post, and the New York Times have refused to give President Trump the slightest chance.
President Trump has already made a huge impact on the United States and he hasn’t even been in office for one year. He successfully nominated a conservative Supreme Court Justice, he pulled out of the Paris Climate Accord due to lack of even funding, he bombed an Air force base in Syria after the chemical attacks, and he has banned transgender soldiers from serving in the Armed Forces due to the federally funded sex changes. President Trump is still struggling with repealing and replacing Obamacare, and getting a working Healthcare system in place, and is struggling to get a major tax reform through Congress, specifically the Senate.
Donald Trump still has 3 more years of a presidency and is sure to make his mark on history. If only the “tolerant” left would even give President Trump and his supporters a chance.
