My belief that the women should be paid the same amount as men, if not more due to their success, has been supported by the major lawsuit filed by US Women's National Team (USWNT). The battle for just compensation has even been supported by members of the Men’s National Team.

The USWNT are positive role models to young women who women can be athletic and successful. Their action of filing a lawsuit for equal pay is also an act of fighting for women’s rights so that younger generations will have gender wage equality.
The United States Women’s National Team filed a daring lawsuit against the U.S. Soccer Organization on March 31, 2016. The lawsuit is for wage discrimination based on gender. The women’s team have won three World Cups, placed gold in two Olympics, and brought in $20 million more than the men in 2015. But they are only making a quarter of what the men earn.
The gender wage gap in America has gone on for far too long. Women are making 60-70 cents for every dollar that a man earns for the same job even for a higher position they are making less than a man who is less qualified. This discrimination based on gender is ridiculous and not fair. Society has progressed, but women are still not equal in pay or treatment by society.
I hope that myself and the future generations of girls will have equal pay and equal rights as men.
