Q: Where did you attend High school and did you graduate?
A: I went to Tabor Academy and yes I did graduate.
Q: What was your favorite subject in high school?
A: my favorite subject was English and my close second was definitely art. I thought for the longest time that I would be an art teacher.
Q: Were you more of an athlete or an intellectual in high school?
A: Definitely an intellectual, I played softball because they required us to play at least one sport at Tabor.
Q: What was your favorite part about your childhood?
A: My family went on a lot of vacations. We took so many road trips to Florida. My parents were car fanatics so we always had really nice cars and when we’d get to North Carolina we’d put the top of the car down because it was warmer outside.
Q: Do you have any long term friends?
A: One of my friends I’ve known since I was three, her name was Blaine. My parents actually adopted one of my friends from high school, her name was Meghan.
Q: What was your first job?
A: My first job was at a trucking company. I pretty much just answered the phone and find stuff for people. I was probably about sixteen.
Q: What is your favorite type of music and why.
A: I really enjoy the new Drake album, I listened to it on the way to work today. I also really like 90’s rock.
Q: Did you go to college? If so, where? What did you study?
A: I went to Stonehill college and studied English and then I went to Simmons college and got a masters in gender and cultural studies and masters in teaching.
Q: Was there an event that occurred in your life that sparked your interest in teaching?
A: I actually didn’t want to be a teacher. I had a college professor and he had a really rowdy class so he asked me to be is TA. I really liked hanging out with the kids and helping them so I figured this is what I want to do.
Q: Do you enjoy kids of all ages?
A: Oh no, I can only deal with sophomores through seniors. One time I was a long term substitute for a seventh and eighth grade class and they were so noisy and impossible, I hated it.
Q: If you could change your career path, what would you be doing?
A: I think I’d be a sommelier, or someone who does wine tasting and works at a winery.
Q: Do you have any college regrets that you wish you could go back and change?
A: If I could go back to college I would definitely go to the cheapest place.
Q: Future plans? Do you want to be a teacher forever?
A: I don't know yet, maybe I’ll be an instructional coach and help other teachers. So many kids come to me and complain about teachers so maybe I could help them out.
Q: Are you married? If so, where did you meet?
A: Yes I am married, we met in high school. He was that boy that drove me nuts because we were in the same friend group. He’d always make fun of me because he liked me but he didn’t tell me he liked me until college and that’s when we started dating. Now we’ve been together for ten years.
Q: Where did you get married?
A: We got married in St. Thomas
Q: What is your favorite memory?
A: It definitely has to be my wedding.
Q: What is your favorite thing about teaching?
A: It’s a job that really never gets boring. There’s a lot of kids that I really enjoy being around.
Q: Do you ever want kids?
A: If I ever do I have I think I’d be a stay at home mom.
Q: What is your favorite book and why?
