At Mashpee High School’s Annual Scholarship Night, a total of $106,550 was awarded out in merit award and scholarships. A total of 43 seniors won scholarships provided by foundations and groups in the local community.
There were many scholarships given in memory of Mashpee students and community members. Cece Piermattei won the Lauren Mae Fulone Memorial Scholarship, presented by Lauren’s father, John Fulone.
At Mashpee High School’s Annual Scholarship Night, a total of $106,550 was awarded out in merit award and scholarships. A total of 43 seniors won scholarships provided by foundations and groups in the local community.
There were many scholarships given in memory of Mashpee students and community members. Cece Piermattei won the Lauren Mae Fulone Memorial Scholarship, presented by Lauren’s father, John Fulone.
Paulina Remis Serna won a scholarship in memory of Mashpee High School faculty member Michael Ford, whom the Hall of Flags is created by. Ari Purdy won the Tim Ford memorial Scholarship, in memory of Michael's son who died battling cancer. These were established to give back to the community, and to help students continue their education further.
Tannah O’Brien was the first winner of the Barbara Mary Melvin Memorial award. This scholarship was given out to a senior who has been accepted into the nursing school for the upcoming fall.
The Priscilla Rollins and Patricia DeConto Retired Teachers award was given to students entering the education field. The winners of this scholarship were Sarah Jalowy, Brynne Santos, and Sydney Pinsonneault.
Some scholarships were presented by speakers, on behalf of the dedicated award, or as the leader of a club or organization. These speakers included: Kevin Blute from the Mashpee Technology Center, Dino Mitrokostas from the Mashpee Pops, and Jean Dennis from the Mashpee Women’s Club.
The Mashpee Scholarship Foundation Trust awards composed of over $40,000 of the money awarded.
Other local organizations rewarded seniors, such as the Boys & Girls Club of Cape Cod, Men’s Club of New Seabury, and Honey Dew Donuts. The community in Mashpee and Cape Cod is generous to reward seniors for hard work.
